As global supply chains shift toward decarbonization and strict performance targets, materials selection has become a differentiator for industrial applications. The 1000 series aluminum family, representing a minimum purity level of 99.00%, stands out as a critical material group across electrical, chemical, and thermal systems.
Unlike alloyed structural series (such as 6000 or 7000 series), the 1000 series features negligible alloying elements. This raw crystalline structure provides exceptional electrical conductivity (reaching over 60% IACS), high thermal conductivity, and outstanding chemical resistance. These features make it highly stable in environments that degrade other metals.
At Qingdao Kangjian Aluminum Industry Technology Co., Ltd., we combine pure metal extrusion techniques with post-processing capabilities. This guarantees that our wholesale 1000 series profiles, sheets, and tubes meet strict global performance and dimensional specifications.

A technical guide to pure aluminum grades: chemical purity, electrical values, and physical limits.
The 1000 series represents the highest purity level among common commercial alloys. Since it contains minimal trace elements, it maintains properties that differ from structural alloys such as the Al-Mg-Si (6000 series) or Al-Zn-Mg (7000 series). Chemical compositions are kept above 99.00% pure aluminum, minimizing internal resistance and reducing point-defect corrosion risk. The principal alloys we supply include:
| Alloy Grade | Min. Al Purity (%) | Electrical Cond. (% IACS) | Thermal Cond. (W/m·K) | Tensile Strength (MPa) | Primary Industrial Use Case |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1050 | 99.50% | 61.5 | 230 | 65 - 95 | Chemical equipment pipelines, battery packaging foil, cosmetic closures. |
| 1060 | 99.60% | 62.0 | 234 | 55 - 85 | High-voltage transmission busbars, EV battery connection plates. |
| 1070 | 99.70% | 62.5 | 236 | 50 - 80 | Precision heat-sink cooling ribs, micro-channel tubes, semiconductor shield plates. |
| 1100 | 99.00% | 59.0 | 220 | 75 - 110 | Evaporators, custom drawn shapes, nameplates, chemical storage tanks. |
Analyzing key industrial markets and technological pathways utilizing high-purity aluminum.
With copper costs volatile, the high-purity 1060 and 1070 profiles serve as reliable lightweight alternatives for substations, heavy busbars, and electric vehicle battery interconnects.
Pure aluminum retains ductibility and toughness at sub-zero temperatures. It is widely applied in LNG storage, cryogenic processing tanks, and industrial piping.
Our micro-channel extrusion technologies enable advanced heat exchangers, cooling plates, and condenser pipes for HVAC and clean-room systems.
For international buyers, material procurement requires both product quality and compliance documentation. Qingdao Kangjian addresses these requirements with dedicated support:
Regulatory Compliance (RoHS & REACH): We verify that all shipped 1000 series orders comply with RoHS and REACH regulations. We provide chemical composition reports to verify that no prohibited heavy metals or substances are present.
North American & European Standards Alignment: Our extrusion and testing processes align with ASTM B221, EN 755, and JIS H4100 standards. This ensures that dimensional tolerances and tensile properties are consistent for automated assembly lines.
Logistical Advantage: Located in Qingdao, Shandong Province, we coordinate transport via the Port of Qingdao. This deepwater access provides direct shipping routes to major international hubs, reducing transit times and logistics costs.
Why integrating raw material access, extrusion, and CNC processing provides structural advantages.

Common questions regarding material specifications, extrusion tolerances, and ordering processes.
Pure aluminum's electrical conductivity is inversely proportional to trace element concentrations (specifically Fe, Si, Cu, and Mn). Alloys like 1060 and 1070 maintain a minimum purity of 99.60% and 99.70% respectively, yielding conductivity values exceeding 62% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard). This makes them well-suited for high-amperage busbars where minimizing thermal resistive loss is required.
1000 series aluminum has excellent weldability using standard TIG or MIG welding processes. We maintain certification under the EN 15085 and AWS systems. Since the 1000 series does not suffer from weld-decay or hot cracking like some high-alloy structural lines, it is reliable for fluid-tight chemical vessels and structural frames.
The 1000 series belongs to the non-heat-treatable class of alloys. Mechanical strength can only be increased via strain-hardening (cold working), resulting in tempers like H12, H14, or H18. It cannot be hardened via solution heat treatments like the 6000 (e.g. 6061-T6) or 7000 series. However, we offer precise extrusion process monitoring to control grain size and work-hardened characteristics.
Anodizing is highly recommended for 1000 series profiles. Due to the minimal alloying elements, the resulting anodic oxide layer is exceptionally clear, bright, and uniform. This provides both cosmetic appeal and protection against localized atmospheric corrosion. Powder coating and chemical conversion coatings are also highly compatible.
Due to the absence of copper or zinc alloying additions, the 1000 series provides superior resistance to general atmospheric and chemical corrosion compared to 2000, 6000, or 7000 series alloys. It is widely used in harsh industrial settings, food processing equipment, and chemical storage vessels where corrosion resistance is primary.
Our manufacturing facility holds major quality and structural standards, including ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), IATF 16949 (Automotive Industry Quality System), ISO 22163 (Railway Industry Quality Standard), EN 15085 & AWS (Welding Standards), and DIN 6701 (Bonding Standard). These certifications support supply compliance for critical applications.
Depending on the profile's shape and outer diameter, our extrusion lines (from 700T to 2500T) can produce thin-walled sections down to 0.8mm for standard profiles. For custom micro-channel shapes, we can target lower thicknesses down to 0.5mm depending on engineering review.
